From the President ...

Thank you to everyone who attended the KySTE Fall Event last week and a HUGE thank you to the leadership of the KySTE Board. I hope you were able to learn something new or at least get refreshed and motivated as we all strive day to day to meet the needs of our students through Technology. Your support of KySTE is greatly appreciated. The Fall Event made me even more excited for the upcoming Spring Conference in March as we welcome Tech leaders from across the state for three great days of sharing and collaboration. Call for Presenters - Deadline Extended!

KySTE 2017, the conference of the Kentucky Society of Technology in Education, invites to you to present. Nearly 2,000 teachers, administrators, and technology leaders will be in attendance. Share your methods, experiences, initiatives, and successes! Approved presenters attend the conference for FREE! This year's conference theme is "TECH Hero: Technology and Education Creating Heroes."

Presentation formats can be a basic presentation or a hands-on format and cover various strands including technical, instructional, leadership, and library/media. You may also choose to present on an introductory, intermediate, or advanced level. When you apply to present, you will indicate all of these things on your application.We would love to have YOU present at the KySTE 2017 conference. The deadline to submit your presentation proposal is November 15, 2016

Outstanding Teacher, Leader, Tech Support, Making IT Happen Awards

KySTE is now accepting nominations for the Outstanding Teacher, Outstanding Leader, Outstanding Technology Support Staff, and Making IT Happen Awards! The nomination deadline is January 20, 2017.

  • Outstanding Teacher: The Outstanding Teacher award recognizes and honors one teacher who has demonstrated outstanding achievement and leadership in implementing technology to improve education. The recipient will be nominated for the ISTE award at the national level.
  • Outstanding Leader: The Outstanding Leader award recognizes and honors one leader who has demonstrated outstanding achievement and leadership in implementing technology to improve education. The recipient will be nominated for the ISTE award at the national level.
  • Outstanding Technology Support Staff: The Outstanding Technology Staff award recognizes and honors a technician or resource person who has demonstrated outstanding achievement and leadership in supporting technology to improve education.
  • Making IT Happen: Making IT Happen is an internationally recognized awards program for educators and leaders in the field of educational technology integration in K-12 schools. The program identifies and rewards educational technology leaders in Kentucky for their commitment and innovation.

2016-17 Outreach Offering

The KySTE Outreach Grant application window is currently open. This year we will have at least $25,000 to give back to our members thanks to our wonderful sponsors.

  • Second Chance window closes at midnight on November 14, 2016
  • Final application window closes at midnight on December 12, 2016.
  • The maximum grant amount for which an individual member can apply is $10,000. You may apply for any or all of this amount.
